EMA UTILITY CRANE A crane made in 1938 for the RAF during the war . This unit known as the E.M.A. (Electric Mobile Aerodrome) it was a 2-6 ton lift semi mobile petrol electric crane with a fixed length jib which could slew round on the base unit. Mobile Tower cranes were being produced but this unit was designed to carry the whole tower on the main truck unit.Intended to be put on the existing LT 4000 base unit, it was to prove a step too far.
