COLES HUSKY 120 - 1967



Self propelled Hydraulic Crane

12 ton lifting capacity built 1967

Deciding to make another model I thought I would make another for the historic series of Coles cranes. This crane, the Husky 120, was brought out in 1967 and proved very successful. This particular model was to stay in production, updated now and then but basically the same, until Coles closed down in 1984.

8"x2.3"x3" high. (200x50x170mm)






An interesting little unit to make although rather fiddly at this scale, The scale was dictated by the fact that I had a set of tyres that were to scale. Made from polystyrene sheet of various thickness with some metal parts for the hydraulics, ladder, steering wheel, cable drum and hooks. Hardest part was making they hydraulic rams with adjustable friction rings to hold the boom.
