Rivers

Rivers

Rivers are
 Rushing,
Rivers are
 Free,
Rivers are racing
 Down to the sea,
Sparkling shining
 Splash over rocks,
Never you bother
 I'm washing
My socks,

Were you a
 Spring,
From deep
 Underground,
Up in the mountains
 With barely a flow,
Were you a ditch
 A long time ago,
You feel so
 Cold,
When I dip in
 My toe,

Home to the
 Ducks,
Happy green
 Frogs,
Bath to the
 Sparrows,
And scratchy old
 Dogs,
Yet still
 Of an evening,
Reflecting a cow,

Gurgle and flow
 This way
And that,
 Fish swimming
Strongly,
 How quickly
They go,
 Lean too far over
Dropped in my hat,
 Please Mr River,
Give it me
 Back.
