Welsh town Festilliog had a large number of people with the surname Jones. To tell who was who they added their jod after their name, o you would have Jones the baker and Jones the Postman.

The coal mine at the Festilliog had just been closed down which is why Jones the winder, Jones the props, Jones the driver and Jones the safety were all being employed mending the valley road outside Festilliog.
